Hamilton Childen's Museum

Hamilton Children’s Museum invites young visitors to stretch their imagination as they touch, build and experiment in a friendly, child-focused setting. Home to interactive, hands-on galleries, the museum encourages learning through self-directed play. Play inspires imagination, and imagination helps children to understand their world.

HofK was contracted to design and fabricate the displays and exhibits in the new expansion to the museum.

Creating Home - Building a sense of community

Have a look at this design build exhibit we produced, located at Station 6 firehall, for the City of Oshawa! The design incorporated photos and artifacts to tell the story of the Windfield Farms.

Our contact, Bethany Waite, was fantastic to work with and a pleasure to have on site.

Come and see this new addition to the firehall and explore the history of the Windfield Farm

Enemy Aliens – Internment in Canada, 1914- 1920 exhibit at Fort Henry National Historical Site.

This innovative interactive exhibit was designed and built through the collaboration of Jensen Design, Swim Media, HofK, and Museum Planners Group. We took on the challenge to produce this multimedia display combining film and still photographs creating the illusion of "ghost-like figures" relaying the stories of their lives in this internment camp.

Thanks again to Cameron Smith at the St. Lawerence Parks Commission and all the folks at Fort Henry for assisting in this endeavour.

S.M.I.L.E.: Acadia University Snoezelen Room

Phase Two

After a long 'Covid' break, HofK has completed Phase Two design, fabrication, and installation for the "Snoezelen" Room at Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

Phase Two of the "Great Canadian Adventure" includes highlights from Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia featuring an interactive model of the Hotel Frontenac, trees with fiberoptic sap and bucket, fiberoptic Niagara Falls with tightrope walker, push button totem pole, murals, and much more.

The purpose of this environment is to provide a non-threatening surrounding that will give both children and adults with learning and developmental disabilities a multi-sensory experience.
